With the Connections feature, you can quickly create and identify relationships between Bars and Containers on your roadmaps. They are a great way to show dependencies between related items.
Add a Connection
Connections will be turned on as the default for each roadmap. If you'd like to remove this feature, click roadmap settings (gear icon). You'll then select Fields. To then disable Connections for all bars and containers on your roadmap:
You can begin adding Connections to Bars and Containers across your roadmaps. To add the connection, click on the secondary bar/container and select Connections from the lefthand tab menu. You'll then do a search for the primary bar/container. This can be on the current roadmap or across other roadmaps:
To see this relationship in action, click the connection icon on the connected bars/containers to see which items they require or are required by. You can also hover over a connection icon to view the linear relationship between connections on your roadmap. You can connect bars on the same roadmap or across multiple roadmaps.
Note: When searching for bars or containers to add a connection to, be sure to type out the full word. This way you'll be sure the correct item is being pulled to make the connection.
Select and Move Connections
You can now hit the shift
or command
key and select the Connection icon on the bottom right side of a bar or container to select and move the dependent items. You also have the option to do this in bulk actions mode.
View all Connections
To see all the Connections on your roadmap simply click on the connections icon on the bottom right of your roadmap, and you will see all your dependencies displayed.
Note: Connections are only visible on the timeline view of your roadmaps.
