Reviewing and Managing Suggested Opportunities

Overview

ProductPlan's Discovery module enables you to collect internal and external feedback, feature requests, and other inputs in a centralized idea repository. The AI Suggested Opportunities feature automates the process of sifting through large volumes of feedback by identifying patterns across submitted ideas and suggesting opportunities to create, helping teams move from ideation to delivery more efficiently. Additionally, AI identifies opportunities that may have potential to be aligned with strategic objectives to ensure a direct connection between emerging opportunities and company goals and that resources are invested in the most impactful initiatives. This feature can be enabled directly through the AI opt-in page.

Generating Opportunities

To get started, navigate to the Ideas page within the Discovery module and ensure that at least 6 ideas are present.
Click the Suggest Opportunities button at the top of the Ideas page.
The Suggested Opportunities panel will open, and AI will begin searching for patterns among the submitted ideas. AI will also reference any current objectives in the system, and prioritize generating opportunities that are aligned with an objective.

Reviewing and Managing Suggested Opportunities

Once AI has finished analyzing the ideas, you can review the suggested opportunities and decide how to handle each opportunity. If ideas and other areas of the system are written primarily in another language, the opportunities AI generates will also be in that same language. Up to 10 opportunities may be generated at a time depending on the number and nature of ideas present. Each opportunity includes references to the ideas that contributed to its creation, and if applicable, links to an existing objective. Opportunities can be accepted or rejected individually or in bulk. If an opportunity is accepted, you can still modify the opportunity and add additional information after its creation. If an opportunity is rejected, it will be dismissed for the time being as it could become relevant in the future as new ideas are submitted.

Note: Only Administrators and Editors will be able to use this feature. While Viewers will still be able to see Opportunities generated by AI, they will not be able to create or edit them.
