ProductPartner AI (Open Beta)

With ProductPartner AI, teams can get quick, context-driven summaries, insights, and guidance directly inside ProductPlan.

  4. Click Save (bottom of the page)

Once enabled, users on the account will see ProductPartner AI in the left navigation. You may need to refresh to see it for the first time.

*Good to know: ProductPartner AI is designed around the page you are on. If you navigate to a different page, your previous conversation history does not carry over.

How ProductPartner AI Answers Questions

ProductPartner AI can respond using a combination of:

  • The page you are currently viewing
  • ProductPlan data from certain supported pages (details below)
  • ProductPlan support and blog content for guidance, troubleshooting, and best practices

When available, it will include links to helpful resources.

Permissions

ProductPartnerAI is designed to respect permissions across our system. Like other objects, it maybe able to see surface level information of connected items, like the title of an objective connected to a bar on a roadmap, but it won't be able to see other critical information about that objective unless the user has the right permissions.

Where ProductPartner AI is Data-Aware

ProductPartner AI is designed to answer questions using ProductPlan data when you are viewing:

Objective details

  • Core objective information (including dates, ownership, progress, risk)
  • Key results basics (including values and progress)
  • Parent and child objective relationships (when applicable)
  • Connected initiatives and connected roadmap work (basic context)

Initiative details

  • Core initiative information (status, effort, priority, dates, owners, teams)
  • Connected objectives (basic context)
  • Connected ideas (when associated)
  • Connected roadmap work (basic context)

Launch details

  • Core launch information (status, launch date)
  • Checklist sections and tasks (owners, due dates, status, completion context)
  • High-level completion summaries

Roadmaps, Legacy Portfolios, Strategic Portfolios

  • Roadmap or portfolio basics (lanes, legends, milestones)
  • Bars and containers for what you are viewing (basic details at the roadmap level, more details when you open an individual roadmap item.)
  • Dependencies within a single roadmap, and across roadmaps
  • Custom field values when available, including when used to structure Group By and Then By lanes and sub-lanes (text fields, single and multi-selects.)

On these pages, ProductPartner AI works well for summaries, progress and risk questions, and “what’s connected to this?” type questions.

Where ProductPartner AI is Context-aware Only

On other pages, ProductPartner AI can still help, but it is not designed to deeply query account data.

Examples include:

  • Index pages (like Objective and Initiative lists)
  • Ideas
  • Settings and admin pages
  • Integrations pages (like SSO, SCIM)

On these pages, it will rely more on what is currently on screen and relevant support or blog content to answer workflow, troubleshooting, or best practice questions.

What to Expect in Beta

  • It is page-based. Switching pages resets the conversation context.
  • It does not scan long lists like a report. On index pages, it is best for what is visible and general guidance, not full account rollups.
  • It does not take actions for you. It will not update fields, move items, or change settings. It can explain how to do those things.
  • Ideas are limited today. It can help with general guidance, but it is not designed to deeply answer questions about Ideas content.
  • Launch flags on roadmaps are not supported.

Questions that Tend to Work Well

Try prompts like:

  • “Give me a summary of what I’m looking at.”
  • “How is this progressing?”
  • “What is at risk?”
  • “Are there any dependencies I should be aware of?”
  • “How do I change the owner?”
  • “How can I set up SCIM provisioning?”
