Customize your primary view in your Roadmap Settings.
Create a Timeline view of your Roadmap
From your Settings, select the Layout tab to define your Roadmap style. To have dates appear at the top of your roadmap, select Timeline. You can set your timeline style to Weeks, Months, Quarters, Months + Quarters, Years and Sprints. If dates are not important to communicate on your Timeline, selecting the style (None) will not display dates. By default, the roadmap is set to display Quarters. The timeline style will also include a caret showing today’s date.
Setting the Start and End Dates
You can limit the date range that you and others can see on your roadmap. The Start Date and End Date define the scrollable boundaries. As you change these dates, all your data is preserved even if it is before or after the dates you define.
Using the Months to Display / Sprints to Display you can define how much of your roadmap appears in a single browser window – for example, you may want to show only three months of your roadmap at a time, even if your roadmap is a full year. Viewers will need to scroll to see the full roadmap.
Changing Dates on your Roadmap
If you look to your roadmap header (in any view), you’ll find both a Start date and End date, to the right of the Prioritization Board icon. This allows you to see and change the exact Start and End date of your roadmap, which can be especially helpful if your roadmap style is set to Quarters.
From here, editors also have the option to change the dates of your roadmap without having to open up your Settings. Simply click on either the Start or End date, and you'll see your roadmap refresh to reflect the new date.
Scrolling Across your Timeline
When you revisit or view a new roadmap, the timeline will auto-scroll to center on the today line. If the today line is outside of the start and end dates, the timeline will not scroll.
When dragging Bars or Containers horizontally across the roadmap, the Timeline will auto-scroll. Dragging vertically across Lanes will also auto-scroll your view. If you drag a Bar past the end of the timeline, the end date will automatically update to display the Bar.
Set up List View as your Primary View
Alternative to the Timeline style, you can also set your roadmap Layout to List view. This will allow you to set your primary roadmap view in a Kanban style list. Define the style based on time (select from Quarters, Sprints and Months) or Tags, which are completely customizable. You can also create the list view by Objectives and custom fields.
View Layout Toggles
Once you've selected your Primary layout view to Timeline or List, you can toggle between the two by selecting the icons in the Header as shown below.
These tooltips, in order left to right are: Timeline, List, Table, Prioritization Board.
This feature is a unique experience for each user who has access to the roadmap. Toggling between view layouts (Timeline or List), will not change the layout for other Editors or Viewers who have access to the roadmap. The default roadmap layout would be determined in the roadmap settings.
